impact report: hr impact day 2020

As we continued to wait out the COVID-19 pandemic, we planned HR Impact Day as a virtual event and were thrilled with the interest, participation, and involvement. With the majority of the world working remotely and with both companies and nonprofits alike having to quickly address new staffing structures, technology challenges, and potential layoffs, our HR Impact Day ended up being extremely timely and beneficial for not only the nonprofit participants but for the pro bono volunteers as well.

We had an exceptional group of volunteers. I give them credit for challenging us and getting us to a place I didn’t think we could be. They really gave us a renewed energy around our work.

Deliverables Received

  • “We developed a reopening plan for our organization. Our next steps are to add details and communicate with our board and volunteers about our expectations to keep everyone safe in the pandemic environment.”

  • “The volunteers took the time to listen and understand our organization. They asked insightful questions to better understand our needs. We came away with a new recruitment plan for volunteers.”

  • “New beneficial on-boarding steps. New annual review process (or I should say NOT having an annual review process). Different ways to boost staff morale. So many good ideas!”

  • “We honestly had maybe 5-6 deliverables! Such a success”

Especially considering the state of the world right now, I left the day feeling re-energized to connect to the nonprofit sector and make a difference. I can’t wait to do this again!

It was a phenomenal day. My brain got to work in a different way so I got a lot out of it too and learned so much. It was fantastic and rewarding and a truly fun experience.
