impact report: tech impact day 2019

It was just an amazing day. Having technical people in the room who listened to what we needed and found solutions was incredible. We took actionable steps today and feel very comfortable with moving forward. We could not be happier!

We had an ongoing suspicion that we could be doing things better but never had time to sit down and focus on it or have the right people in the room to answer questions...until today! We had a couple big ah-ha moments and big smiles around the room all day!

What was most amazing about today was seeing the work that’s happening in the community and being given the opportunity to bring real value to these organizations. Today, I could offer my full skills and saw that it was valuable, meaningful & necessary.

WHAT DID THE VOLUNTEERS DELIVER TO THE NONPROFIT AT THE END OF THE DAY?

  • “We created a new information architecture for their website. We brought this to life by actually working in the web system to make the changes and by the end of the day they had a refreshed online experience.”

  • “Our nonprofit was educated about tech solutions they were unaware of. Once they understood the scope of the problem and how it could be solved they realized the solution they thought they needed did not match the correct solution. They now realize they can solve many problems with one tool!”

  • “We made a plan to revamp their entire website and create a custom software solution to manage course registrations. 1-2 volunteers plan to continue working with the org until the solution is implemented.”

  • “We provided a list of web recommendations to improve the user experience, engagement, and utility to both the user and organization for our nonprofit. This list included a revised sitemap, recommendations for tech integrations to support donations, merchandise order, and scheduling, and UI improvement recommendations.”

  • “We provided our nonprofit partner with a free cloud solution that allows them to track, manage and expand their business. We will be meeting again after Impact day to further collaboration and migrate their data from local to cloud platform.”

  • “We delivered a framework and tips on how our non profit partner can best manage, maintain and manipulate data from various data sources. We recommended against the nonprofit’s initial plan of paying a consulting company for a data migration project, found a free solution, and ultimately save them a lot of money!”

Today was extremely meaningful. I did some research on the ED of our nonprofit before I came but I didn’t realize what a badass she is until today. We made sure we protected her vision and mission with everything we worked on.

Thank You Funders & Sponsors

Our cornerstone funder, Bush Foundation, provided the means to refine and expand our Impact Day offerings this year. Each of our corporate sponsors provided funding to support, promoted the opportunity to their employees to volunteer, and several tabled the Mini-Product Fair and offered nonprofit participants discounts on their products and services! And our In-Kind sponsors, WeWork, Agra Culture & SotaRol gave us a space to work and sustenance to keep us energized!
